It goes without saying that you'll need to know at least a little about search engine optimization if you're going to have any kind of online success. Without optimizing your website for search engine traffic you won't be able to attract nearly enough visitors to convert into meaningful sales figures.

Are you running a blog alongside your website? Why not? Start a blog and link it to your website. Even if nobody reads it, it will still help with your SEO. If people do read it, great! You might start to build up a following and you can cash in on this as you see fit.
